Images that surfaced may have had observers on all sides of the Great Moyes Debate confused during Manchester United's match against Norwich on Saturday.

A banner flew over Old Trafford with a simple message: "Thank U Moyes - Malta FF."

Most took it was a nice gesture to the Scot who was sacked earlier in the week from the Manchester United helm.

But much like the "Moyes Out" banner that flew over Old Trafford previously, it was a subtle jab at the now-fired gaffer.

The group Malta FF is a group of Maltese football fans who aren't Manchester United supporters and actually follow different clubs and were appreciative of Moyes' miserable reign.

Per the Times of Malta

Oranised by a Facebook group of football aficionados called Football Forum, the banner is meant as a dig at the manager's poor performance at the club.

The club is expected to end the season with its worst placing since the top flight was set up back in 1992.

One of the organisers of the tongue-in-cheek tribute, said the 30 forum members who had contributed towards the idea were all fans of rival clubs who had "enjoyed Moyes as a manager."
