WOW!!! I can barely breath right now! We were so unlucky with the injuries and Klinsmann had to make forced changes. But USA gave it all. They defended with their heart and when when Ghana equalized they didn't give up and attacked with their heart despite being dead tired. Howard was a wall, Dempsey was class, Bedoya made a great sacrifice, everyone as a team! Thank You All. Revenge completed. Come on USA!!! DAMN I LOVE FOOTBALL!

I think Ghana is better team than Portugal for this tournament.... With injury to Portugal USA can sneak a win or draw for sure! GO USA

Do you not understand for our country this was a huge win? This tream destroyed our dreams, in back to back world cups. They eliminated us in back to back world cups. They may be the biggest rival we have ever had, as a country. To defeat them in Brasil? The most legendary footballing country in the world? You kidding me? To beat Ghana on that soil was amazing. With injuries much less. We're not Spain. We don't win a lot, when we do win we are happy. So shut up you stupid mug.

Other than going through the back door exit, I don't see where Portugal could go with 3 key players missing and a Ronaldo still recovering from injury and a long season.

Yes, I'll admit it. We got lucky, but sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. The team offense looked really bad. No space between players therefore they could not make passes. We have to pick it up against Portugal or we will lose. Good luck USA!

The USA was Ghana's only hope of assured 3points.....rather unfortunate the meat slipped thru our hands and left with our hoped 3points. At this stage, i feel Ghana will exit the tournament at this group stage. So sad!

Sorry folks, but native US citizens relate "football" to anything related to style of play with the oblong pigskin. I believe the rest of the world likely associates football with what we call "soccer." Neither is 100% right or wrong, but just reality of regional vocabulary. No disrespect to either sport. Simply put, there are hardcore fans in the USA for all sports, but baseball and football (NFL) trump all others. Basketball sits third, followed presumably by hockey. Every kid I know played soccer growing up in the states, but for whatever reason, it doesn't stick. Money to be made and heroes associated with other sports here. Glad to represent globally, but honestly, most of our elite athletes search out their fortune in other sports. Will still take the win!

First off, the world calls it football because you use your feet not your hands very simple that is a 100% right. American Football or like how many people describe it, Egg Ball use their hands and body to tackle no feet involved, that is 100% wrong. Second, Football (soccer) is no where near supported as the other sports you mentioned in the US. You think if Football (soccer) had nearly half as much support as those sports, athletes wouldn't be exposed to it? You are fool for thinking like this. Football is the world's favorite sport

The Ghana coach gave that game to the US, Assamoah left back, and Kevin Prince Boateng didn't start, worst tatics ever. Now they will have to try to win against a lethal Germany team and a good Portugal side, this was Ghana game to get something. Just because the US is not a really good team doesn't mean that they suck. Now I will have to hear all my classmates brags about how great the US futbol team is, you know how hard it is to tell these American that the US have a long way to go to catch all the rest of the world when it comes to futbol. Especially with these American Commentor, every comment they make when US win or even playing is just so annoying. This win itself is like winning the world cup to them, they have know idea what Germany and Portugal going to do to them.
