Already serving a six-month ban from football metered out by the LFP for the same offence, Bastia striker Brandao has today been served with a one-month jail sentence for head-butting PSG midfielder Thiago Motta in the Parc des Princes tunnel after the fixture between the two sides on 16th August.
The Brazilian striker has also been stung with a further €20,000 fine.
However, according to Ligue 1 journalist Jonathan Johnson, Brandao’s sentence is likely to be transformed into community service.
Brandao will NOT go to prison. 1-month sentence to be transformed into community service. Player’s lawyer suggests there will be no appeal.

His sixth-month suspension means Brandao will be out of contention until the end of February, having made just two appearances (162 minutes in total) for the club beforehand after joining on a one-year deal in the summer.
What a terrific bit of business he’s turned out to be.
