Newcastle 2-1 Chelsea: Pardew hails beating 'best in Europe'

Newcastle United manager says his side beat "the best in Europe" after ending Chelsea's bid for an unbeaten season with a 2-1 win at St James' Park.

The Magpies took the lead when Papiss Cisse slotted in before Moussa Sissoko set up the Senegalese striker for another tap-in. The hosts had Steven Taylor sent-off but, despite Didier Drogba pulling one back, held on for the win.

The win moved Newcastle on to 23 points and also ended Chelsea's 23-game unbeaten run in all competitions in 2014.
