Olympique de Marseille have secured the services of Monaco forward Lucas Ocampos on a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.

Marseille wrapped up the transfer in the closing hours of the window and will look to Ocampos to reinvigorate what has become a sluggish offense.

The finer details of the transfer see the Argentine staying with the club until June 30th with an automatic transfer of ten to fourteen million euros should Marseille directly qualify for the Champions League.

Ocampos, in his first interview with Marseille, has expressed his admiration for the club as well as his new coach and fellow countrymen Marcelo Bielsa.

“This is a great club with great players , a good coach , that’s why I came here, to have titles.” “I hope to continue the tradition of great Argentines, like Lucho Gonzalez and Gabriel Heinze at the club.”

With Marseille in the thick of the title race, Ocampos is ready to dive right in and has expressed his desire to feature in this weekend’s match with Stade Rennais.
