Milan 2-2 Verona

Nico Lopez
Nico Lopez struck in the fifth minute of stoppage time to give Verona a draw at Milan

AC Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi remains under pressure after Nico Lopez's 95th-minute equaliser gave Verona a 2-2 Serie A draw at the San Siro.

Inzaghi denied mid-week reports that, with the Rossoneri struggling in mid-table, he was set to be replaced by his assistant Mauro Tassotti.

Jeremy Menez levelled with a first-half penalty for the home side after Luca Toni's spot-kick had put Verona ahead.

A Panagiotis Tachtsidis own goal put Milan in front before Lopez struck.

The Uruguayan substitute ran on to Toni's flick to score and leave Milan 10th in Serie A.

The visitors had gone in front through Toni's cheeky penalty, chipped into the centre of the goal, after Sulley Muntari had fouled Artur Ionita.

Philippe Mexes, returning after a four-week ban imposed for grabbing Lazio's Stefano Mauri by the throat, was key to Milan's fightback.

He won the penalty from which Menez scored before hitting a shot from an acute angle that struck Eros Pisano and then Tachtsidis on its way into the net.

But Milan tried to sit on their lead and were punished with virtually the last kick of the match.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Samuel Eto'o scored his first goal since returning to Italy as Sampdoria beat Cagliari 2-0.

The former Inter Milan striker, who left Everton in January, found the net with an impressive shot on the turn after full-back Lorenzo De Silvestri had headed Sinisa Mihajlovic's side into a first-half lead.
