Wayne Rooney has more credit than other players - Louis van Gaal

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says captain Wayne Rooney "has more credit than any other player" before Tuesday's Champions League home game against CSKA Moscow.

England's record goalscorer has been criticised for his club form this season, but his Dutch boss describes him as "an example for the whole team" and a person he has "confidence in".

United are second in their Champions League group, two points behind leaders Wolfsburg and level on points with their third-placed visitors.
