Arsenal fans may well be buying Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) over Fifa next season, after the Gunners were revealed to be officially licensed in the E3 teaser trailer released by Konami.

The series traditionally loses out in the licensing war to EA Sports’ Fifa franchise, who still own league exclusivity and debuted their own first look at Fifa 17 earlier this week, but Konami will now at least share Arsenal rights for the upcoming campaign.

The footage features a match between Arsene Wenger’s Premier League side and this year’s Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid.

Although not direct in game footage, supporters can catch a glimpse of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Petr Cech in virtual form alongside other top stars.

Gameplay and visuals once again benefit from Konami’s Fox rendering engine, with the PES 2017 tagline being ‘Control reality’.

Realism certainly rings true in the trailer, as Olivier Giroud is seen failing to score from near point-blank range.

However, we recommend watching the trailer with the sound off as the music remains just as dire as ever.
