Antonio Conte laughed off Arsene Wenger’s suggestion that Marcos Alonso’s opening goal in Chelsea 3-1 win over Arsenal should’ve been disallowed.

The Spaniard headed the runaway Premier League leaders in front in the 13th minute, wiping out Bellerin in the process.

Arsenal’s right-back had to be substituted having been sent crashing to the turf by his compatriot and Wenger claimed the 21-year-old was left so dazed that he was unable to tell the club’s medics the score.

The Arsenal manager was adamant the goal ‘100 per cent’ should not have stood but Conte claimed he was surprised to hear that view given English football is so notoriously physical.

‘In England this is always goal,’ he said. ‘To hear this in England [that some people think it was a foul] I’m surprised. In Italy maybe.

‘I understand when that happens against you. We can see a lot of this situation in England.

‘In other countries maybe we can have a conversation, but here, it’s not right to talk about this.’
