Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic marked his 29th birthday on Friday by signing a new four-year contract.
The Croatia international was pictured on Barcelona's website shaking hands on the deal with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
In a statement, Barcelona said: "Ivan Rakitic has this Friday completed the final step of extending his contract that ties him to Barcelona until June 30, 2021."
Rakitic, who played a part in Barcelona's incredible 6-1 Champions League victory over Paris St Germain on Wednesday night, moved to the Nou Camp in 2014 from Sevilla.
His new deal was agreed in principle on Thursday, when Barcelona stated it would contain a buy-out clause of €125m (£109m).
The Switzerland-born player emerged at Basle, before moving on to Schalke and Sevilla.
He has established himself as a key figure in the Barcelona team, scoring 23 goals in 145 games and winning two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey crowns and the Champions League.
