Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has revealed the way he feels he’s improved most since his time at Liverpool and earlier in his career.

The 22-year-old joined City last season and made a bright start, though he’s arguably looked even better under new manager Pep Guardiola this year.

Sterling has 20 goals in 85 games for the Sky Blues, and he puts his improvement down to being more direct and decisive in the final third of the pitch.

‘I’m probably playing a bit more direct, once I get in the final third I make an action, use instinct,’ the England international told the Guardian.

‘Before I was a bit more slow, I tried to mix it up. Now I’m just going at it 100%.

‘Before I was trying to be silky. It’s just the way we’re playing under the manager.’

Sterling’s City are in action against Arsenal this weekend and he’ll be hoping to repeat the heroics that saw him score the winner when the teams last met in December.
