Mauricio Pochettino have refused to rule out selling Dele Alli in the summer amid reports of a move to Spain.

Real Madrid and Manchester City have been linked with a transfer for the dynamic Tottenham midfielder who just picked up the PFA Young Player of the Year award this week.

Alli is expected to go on to become one of the best England midfielders ever after blossoming into a terrific player under Pochettino.

The Tottenham boss signed Alli as an unknown teenager from MK Dons and Pochettino refused to say whether he would be at White Hart Lane next season.

‘I cannot guarantee anything in life,’ said Pochettino.

‘The most important thing is to enjoy the present. I am so sad [about the death of the club’s under-23 coach Ugo Ehiogu] — don’t think about the future.

‘In the future, we’ll take the best decision for the club.

‘After three years you can see how the team is improving every year and all our decisions so far have been good.

‘Trust in the club that we will take the best decision for the club to achieve [our goals], improve next season again. That’s the most important thing.

‘We care a lot about the club and now we must focus on the present, try to help the team and the club to be there if Chelsea drop points.

‘And it will be special if in the last season at White Hart Lane we win the Premier League.

‘We have three to four weeks [until the summer]. We must give our best, big efforts for all of us, for the players to try to focus.

‘Don’t think about the holidays, don’t think about the rumours, don’t think about what will happen next season.

‘I want the last three to four weeks to be a big effort from everyone to achieve [something].

‘Then we can congratulate everyone and try next season.’

Tottenham and Alli suffered disappointment in the FA Cup when Chelsea dumped them out of the tournament at the semi-final stage last Saturday.

Spurs are still in the hunt for the Premier League title, but have four points to make up on leaders Chelsea with six games left to play.

Real have raided Tottenham several times in recent years with the La Liga giants signing Luka Modric in 2012 and paying a then world-record fee for Gareth Bale in 2013.

Alli would surely command a mega-fee as one of the world’s most consistent young stars and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy a famously crude negotiator.
