With two games still to play, Chelsea were crowned 2016/17 Premier League champions on Friday night after beating West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns.

Antonio Conte’s side have been at the top of the table for the majority of the campaign and secured a fifth title for the club after winning their 28th game of the season.

It did not always look so rosy for the west London outfit, however, and questions were being asked of Conte after his side lost back-to-back league games in September.

In fact, Chelsea were more or less ruled out of the title race earlier in the season as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City shot to the top of the league.

Former Manchester United stars Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves clearly doubted Chelsea’s ability earlier in the campaign, telling BT Sport that the title would not be heading to Stamford Bridge.

And, after his former side proved the doubters wrong to win the league in emphatic style, Didier Drogba could not help but remind the ex-Red Devils of their prediction.

Drogba, of course, is a legend in his own right at Chelsea, having won four Premier League titles and the Champions League with the club.

The Ivorian remains Chelsea’s fourth highest goalscorer of all time with 157 goals in his 341 appearances for the club.
