Chelsea representatives are set to sit down with Monaco chiefs this week to negotiate a deal for £50m-rated midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Antonio Conte is keen on making the Frenchman his first signing of the summer and the Blues are wary of interest from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old has been in sensational form for Leonardo Jardim’s side this term and gave the Premier League giants a boost today by revealing he would reject a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Conte will be given significant funds to spend this summer and already has £60m in the kitty from Oscar’s departure in the January transfer window.

Monaco’s president confirmed today that he would not stand in the way of any players that want to leave this summer but the French giants want around £50m for Bakayoko.

Chelsea value the France international at around £35m but, according to the Telegraph, they will have the chance to discuss a deal this week when they meet with Monaco over the deal.
