Atletico Madrid’s assistant manager says Antoine Griezmann has made his transfer plans ‘very clear’ as he continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

The striker is top of Jose Mourinho’s wish list, and has been for some time, though Atletico remain utterly adamant that he will not be sold.

Griezmann gave himself a 6/10 chance of moving to Old Trafford when asked about his future last week, though rated his chances of staying at Atletico slightly higher.

And Atletico assistant Juan Vizcaino insists the French striker has made it plainly obvious that he will not be leaving the club this summer.

‘I think Griezmann will stay,’ Vizcaino told Cadena Ser.

‘At this stage, you can misinterpret remarks made by anyone. But I think Griezmann has made it very clear in his mind that he will remain.’

Vizcaino’s remarks follow on from those of Atletico president Enrique Cerezo, who is also adamant that Griezmann will still be playing under Diego Simeone next season.

‘Griezmann? He’ll stay,’ he said following the Copa del Rey final, the final competitive match at the Calderon before Atletico move into a new stadium. ‘Not here at the Calderon, but at the Wanda [Metropolitano].’

Paul Pogba had got United fans excited when he mimicked his compatriot’s trademark Hotline Bling celebration, though all the noises coming out of the Atletico camp suggest the move is far from certain.

Griezmann is seen as the ideal frontman for Mourinho, who wants more pace and firepower up front, with the Frenchman scoring 16 goals and laying on another eight assists last term.
