Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has made it clear that every big name player in world football should want to seal a transfer to Stamford Bridge if they get the offer.

The England international has won yet another big trophy with the Blues this season after helping the club to the Premier League title, and it’s the continued success that means he’s loved his time at the club.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of exciting transfer targets ahead of the summer, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Tiemoue Bakayoko among those believed to be on Antonio Conte’s radar, though, as ever, they will face competition from big spenders such as Manchester United, Manchester City and European heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Cahill, however, can’t see elite calibre players turning down the opportunity for silverware at Chelsea, explaining just how much that winning mentality runs through every level of the club.

‘Since I have been here I have won six medals in five years and I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t want to join Chelsea,’ Cahill told the London Evening Standard.

‘I have been involved in semi-finals and finals of cup competitions and won League titles – there is no reason I can think of why someone wouldn’t want to be here.

‘We breathe that winning mentality from top to bottom. Just look at the youth system. The Under-18s won the FA Youth Cup for a fourth straight year.

‘They breed win, win, win here. It’s a great habit to get into. Ultimately I look at my Chelsea career since I stepped though the door and it’s been a total success.

‘I look at the size of the club, the fanbase the calibre of players that come in, it’s got everything going for it.
