The agent of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof has refused to deny speculation that his client is set to sign for Manchester United this week.

Widespread reports on Saturday claim the Swede will fly to Manchester later this week to complete a medical before a £35million move to the Red Devils.

Lindelof, 22, was a target for United in the January transfer window but Jose Mourinho decided to wait until the summer to sign the talented centre-back.

The Sweden international is expected to become United’s first signing of the summer and Lindelof’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has refused to deny the reports that he will sign after a friendly against Norway on Tuesday.

‘I will not comment on whether there is a transfer, nor when a transfer will be done,’ Cetinkaya told Sportbladet.

‘Victor’s next flight is to Oslo. My next flight is to Milano

‘[It would not be] a bad fee for a defender in world football. Benfica probably have a high asking price for him.’

The deal for Lindelof is believed to be worth an initial £35m with a further £5m based on Lindelof’s success at the Theatre of Dreams.

Once the deal is done, United will then move onto completing a move for Real Madrid ace Alvaro Morata, who will cost around £60m.
