Tottenham have reportedly slapped a £45million price-tag on Kyle Walker as the England defender continues to be linked with a summer move.

Manchester City are believed to be in pole position to sign Walker, who has been at Spurs since 2009, although rivals United and champions Chelsea have also expressed interest.

Pep Guardiola is understood to have made the 27-year-old one of his priority targets this summer, but the Daily Star say Spurs will hold out for an offer in the region of £45m.

Walker, 27, has remained coy over his future in north London but is said to be keen on a move to the Etihad to be closer to his family.

Asked earlier in the month whether the transfer rumours were proving a distraction while on international duty with England, Walker said: ‘Not at all.’

And when pressed whether he could give any indication on his future, the right-back who has played over 220 games for Tottenham added: ‘No, no indication at all.’

Guardiola is determined to rebuild his defence during the current window, reportedly willing to offer Walker a contract worth over £100,000-a-week.

The former Barcelona boss is also chasing Juventus and Brazil full-back Dani Alves, although City face competition from Chelsea to secure a deal.
