Tiemoue Bakayoko

Chelsea target Tiemoue Bakayoko dropped a big hint on Tuesday night that he was set to join Manchester United on Twitter – but quickly deleted the post.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and some reports even claimed he was set for a medical this week.

The 22-year-old has attracted plenty of attention after an eye-catching season with Monaco and is valued at around £40million by the Ligue 1 giants.

Chelsea appeared to be leading the race to sign Bakayoko but he fueled speculation he could join United instead by commenting on a Twitter post on Tuesday.

Bakayoko replied: ‘Yes this’ or ‘Yes it’ in French to an article claiming he was joining the Red Devils but quickly deleted the post.

Chelsea fans – understandably – are worried United will gazump them for a second time this summer after Romelu Lukaku’s move to Stamford Bridge was hijacked.

United had shown an interest in Chelsea ace Nemanja Matic but now doubt the Blues will sell the Serbian after the Red Devils secured Lukaku.
