Mesut Ozil has revealed that his preference is to stay at Arsenal and says he will discuss a new contract after the club finish their pre-season tour of Australia.

Like Alexis Sanchez, the Germany international has just one year left on his current deal and has yet to sign an extension.

Ozil, who is currently earning £140,000 a week, is reportedly holding out for a deal worth around £300,000 a week.

And speaking at the launch of Arsenal’s new third kit in Sydney on Wednesday, the midfielder admits he is keen to remain at the club.

‘It is definitely my preference to stay,’

‘It is such a great club and I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal. Once everyone is back in London we will sit down and discuss about the future.
