Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly set to join AC Milan in the next 48 hours.

The centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with Antonio Conte a massive fan of his former player.

Manchester City have also been mooted as suitors alongside Chelsea and it seems as though Bonucci has several options this summer.

Bonucci’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, has already confirmed talks over an exit have begun, telling Sportitalia: ‘We’re working on a sale.’

Juventus are ready to let the defender walk this summer after Bonucci informed them in January he wanted to leave the club.

Bonucci’s agent has been sounding out clubs this week and Milan are on the brink of completing a £35million deal, claim Calciomercato.

Personal terms have already been agreed between the player and Milan with Bonucci ready to sign a €6million-a-year deal.

Bonucci wants to join Milan rather than move abroad as he targets staying in Serie A.

The Italy international has won six Serie A titles in a row with Juventus and is eager to try a different challenge.

The deal could go through for as little as £35m with Juventus happy to give Bonucci every chance of a new start after seven years at the club.

Bonucci will become Milan’s new captain if he joins and the move could be finalised and announced on Friday.

Milan are set to jet off on a pre-season tour at the weekend and the Italians want their new skipper on the plane.

It has been a crazy summer for Milan as they have splashed the cash and added Hakan Calhanoglu, Andre Silva, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez and Andrea Conti to their ranks.

Chelsea and City will be disappointed to miss out on one of the best centre-backs in football.

Bonucci has been superb for club and country in the last five years and is at the peak of his powers at 30 years old.
