Alex Iwobi insists Alexandre Lacazette has already settled into life at Arsenal following his club-record move to the Emirates.

Lacazette, who scored 35 goals for Lyon last season, became the Gunners’ most expensive signing earlier in the month by signing a five-year deal worth over £50million.

The France striker wasted no time in kick-starting his Arsenal career, scoring just 15 minutes into his first game for the club against Sydney FC on Thursday.

And Iwobi expects big things from Lacazette, who he says has already started bonding with his new team-mates on the pre-season tour of Australia.

When asked what the 26-year-old will bring to north London, Iwobi told Sky Sports: ‘As you can see he will add goals to the team and bring good link-up play.

‘He’s already enjoying his time here and having good chemistry with the lads. I’m sure there’s a lot to come from him this season.’

Arsene Wenger will hope the prolific Frenchman will help Arsenal enjoy a more consistent campaign following a mixed season at the Emirates.

The Gunners won the FA Cup – beating London rivals Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley – but finished outside of the top four to relinquish Champions League football.

‘Obviously we had that little drought in the middle of the season, hopefully we’ve already seen what we can improve on,’ Iwobi added.

‘[We’re] trying to add probably a couple of players. We know what we can improve on. This season hopefully we stop all the minor setbacks and win as many games as we can.’

Following Lacazette’s arrival at Arsenal, Wenger said: ‘We are very happy to have Alexandre join our group.

‘He has shown over a number of years that he can score goals and that he is a very efficient finisher. As well, he has very interesting technical qualities and a strong character.

‘So he is a guy who is a great addition for us, and someone who will help us challenge at the top level this season.’
