Arsene Wenger has refused to guarantee that Olivier Giroud will stay at Arsenal this summer.

The 30-year-old has been targeted by Everton while reports on Friday claimed that Borussia Dortmund are also in talks about a potential deal.

Earlier this week, Giroud admitted that his future is uncertain and has stressed that he does not want a repeat of last season in which he started just 17 games for Arsenal.

The France international was also at the centre of debate among Arsenal fans during their 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday as he appeared to snub Alexandre Lacazette during his celebration for the opening goal.

When asked about Giroud’s situation after his side’s latest pre-season win in Australia, Wenger said: ‘Yeah, there’s a lot of speculation.

‘I’ve said many times I’ve huge respect for Olivier Giroud, for the man he is, the way he loves our club.

‘Even with all the speculation he’s focused, he does his job. He’s shown that again tonight.’

Asked if he wants Giroud to stay, Wenger replied: ‘I’ve always said that, I’ve been consistent with that. That’s where we are with that.’
