Antonio Candreva admits it is ‘nice’ to be linked with Chelsea after his agent refused to rule out a move to the Premier League champions.

Blues boss Antonio Conte worked with the Inter Milan winger while he was in charge of the Italy national team and is said to be considering a move for his signature.

Chelsea attempted to sign the 30-year-old during the January transfer window and reports say Conte is eyeing a move after missing out on Danilo, who has signed a five-year deal with Manchester City.

Candreva insists he is happy in Milan but admitted it was nice to be spoken of as a Chelsea target.

He told the Italian media: ‘I’m proud to wear this shirt, I’ve bought into an important project here and I’m happy to be here.

‘This jersey has an important history, which is honoured every time I wear it.

‘The links with Chelsea are nice, but there’s been absolutely nothing to date. The club will take care of any bids that may come in.’

Former Lazio star Candreva impressed for Inter last season and his agent refused to rule out a switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.

‘Antonio is very calm at the moment and is only thinking about Inter,’ Federico Pastorello told Italian outlet FCInter.

‘He’s happy with the arrival of [Luciano] Spalletti as the new coach.

‘I would say it’s 80 per cent that he stays at Inter but Chelsea? You cannot exclude anything at the moment.’
