Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has hinted that Manchester United target Ivan Perisic is pushing for a move to Old Trafford.

The Croatia international has been linked with the Red Devils for much of the summer.

Jose Mourinho is understood to have identified the winger as an ideal addition to provide more service for his strikers.

Inter Milan have so far stood firm on a switch and want the player to remain, however Spalletti today conceded Perisic could go.

After watching his side beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in a pre-season match in Singapore, in which Perisic played a starring role, Spaletti said: ‘Our intention is to keep Perisic if possible. I have known him for a long time and you don’t need me to tell you that he’s a world-class player.

‘Whether he played well tonight or not isn’t important. We want to keep him, but a lot of considerations have to be made. I can’t say for sure if he is going to stay or not.’

He also hinted Perisic wants to make the move to Old Trafford – and that will be taken into account.

‘I want to keep him but we must consider the opinion of the club and player,’ said Spalletti.

The comments come after Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said he expected at least one more arrival this summer.

Before the window opened he identified four areas to strengthen but having struggled to land his targets said he would settle for three.

‘A long time ago, we thought about four players to strengthen our squad, but it is really hard to do it,’ said Mourinho. ‘If we do the third and forget the fourth, I would be quite happy with that because I know it is difficult.’

Having signed Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof already this summer, Perisic could be that third addition.
