Romelu Lukaku took little time to make an impression on Manchester United fans during his Premier League debut for the club.

Leading the line in the season opener against West Ham, the former Everton striker bagged a brace.

He opened the scoring in the first half with a well taken low finish that pinged in off the inside of the post.

He then doubled up in the second half by heading in a Henrikh Mkhitaryan free-kick.

In doing so he became just the fourth Manchester United player to score a brace on his Premier League debut.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was the first, doing so in 2001. The most recent two were both academy products with James Wilson achieving it in 2014 and Marcus Rashford last year.

The rapid start from Lukaku will have Manchester United fans very excited, with the hope the Belgian can fire United into Premier League title contention.

Although his success against West Ham should perhaps not have come as a surprise. He’s now scored nine goals in 11 appearances against the Hammers.

Manchester United eventually won the match 4-0 with Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba getting on the scoresheet.
