Arsene Wenger has confirmed he plans for Jack Wilshere to stay at Arsenal this season and hinted the midfielder could sign a new contract with the club.
Wilshere’s future is still uncertain with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Coquelin all ahead of him in the midfield pecking order with the club fielding a number of inquiries from clubs at home and abroad.
"It's good that he is back and available," he says. "I think he needs games now. He might play again on Monday night. He is not far away now [from being completely fit]. I plan for him to be here for the season, after we will see."
Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth where he made 27 Premier League appearances, but Eddie Howe decided against making the move permanent.
West Ham are also keen while both Sampdoria and Antalyaspor have made approaches this summer for the player who only has a year remaining on his current deal.
