Manchester United have had to wait a while, but at long last they are playing with all the swashbuckling bravado of the Sir Alex Ferguson years after another 4-0 victory.

Having swept aside West Ham on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, they cemented their place at the top of the table by repeating that scoreline away to Swansea.

It marks the first time in 110 years that United have scored four or more goals in the first two games of a new season, and a playful Jose Mourinho summed up the current mood at United perfectly.

Looking relaxed and chilled ahead of the thumping that followed, Mourinho was caught on camera cheekily puffing on an imaginary cigar as he chatted to opposition boss Paul Clement.

It represents a huge shift for both the Portuguese coach and his club, showing a more fun and cheerful attitude than last season when he often appeared tetchy despite winning three trophies.

And that has been reflected in the football too, with United having already notched 15 per cent of their total goals last season in just the first two matches of the campaign.

Understandably, United fans are loving this new-found sense of fun. And they’re not the only ones…
