Chelsea are said to be confident of completing a bargain move for Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente before the summer transfer window closes.

Antonio Conte has told Chelsea he wants two or three more arrivals at Stamford Bridge before Thursday night’s deadline, despite already spending over £150million this summer.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Arsenal and England star, is closing in on a move to the reigning champions after a £35m fee was agreed between the two parties.

Midfielders Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley have been linked with moves to west London and Conte also has an eye on attacking reinforcements.

Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid last month but with Diego Costa set to secure a move away from the English capital, Conte would still like to land another forward.

Llorente, who Conte signed for Juventus in 2015, has emerged as a target and is believed to be keen on a switch to Chelsea to work under the Italian manager.

Swansea had previously valued the 32-year-old at over £30m but the Evening Standard say Chelsea have received signals that the Welsh club could accept £15m.

Llorente, who was a member of the Spain squads which won the World Cup in 2010 and Euros two years later, helped the Swans avoid the drop last season, scoring 15 goals in 33 league appearances, and is viewed as an ideal back-up striker and mentor to his compatriot Morata.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Conte confirmed the Chelsea board were working ‘very hard’ to secure some late signings.

‘There are four days to go in the transfer market,’ Conte said. ‘I think the club is working very hard to try to improve our squad.

‘Don’t forget that in September we have to play seven games and I need to rotate my players because it’s very difficult to play seven games in a month with the same players.

‘The club is working hard to strengthen the squad. They know very well our situation. But I repeat I’m ready in every case to continue to work with this group of players.’
