Alexis Sanchez has threatened to never play for Arsenal again after the club prevented him from joining Manchester City on deadline day, according to reports.

On Thursday morning, the Gunners had accepted a £60 million offer from City for the Chile international but subsequently pulled the plug on the deal after failing to land a replacement.

Arsenal’s priority was to sign Thomas Lemar and even though their £92m bid was given the green light by Monaco, the 21-year-old declined the chance to move to Arsene Wenger’s side.

Goal now report that Sanchez feels Arsenal have ‘messed around’ with his future and has ‘no motivation’ to continue playing under Wenger.

The report also claims that Sanchez’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, is furious with Arsenal’s decision to put the brakes on the transfer after initially indicating that a deal was possible.

City, meanwhile, will attempt to sign Sanchez in January and believe the 28-year-old could be available for just £30m if he refuses to settle after returning from the international break.

Sanchez has less than a year remaining on his contract with Arsenal and would be available to talk to clubs outside of England in January before leaving on a free transfer next summer.

City are willing to convince Sanchez by offering him a large signing-on fee in addition to a £300,000-a-week salary.

Sanchez was convinced that he would sign for City on deadline day and had even told his Chile team-mates about the move on Thursday morning.

Reports also claim that Sanchez had signed the contract with City at Chile’s training base in Santiago.
