Wolves winger Matt Jarvis has signed a new five-year deal with the club.

The 24-year-old is a mainstay in the Molineux club's side and was in impressive form last season in helping Wolves to Premier League survival.

"He had less than two years left on his contract and it was the right time to do something," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the club's website.

"Matt is a highly-rated player who fits in with our policy of developing good young players and aiming to keep them."

Jarvis joined Wolves from Gillingham in June 2007 and his trickery, pace and work ethic have seen him form an important part of the current side under manager Mick McCarthy.

"He started 30 games in the Premier League last season and did very well," added Moxey.

"There was a lot of speculation linking him to a possible England call-up for the recent qualifiers which shows the progress he has been making.

"And, we are confident he still has more improvement to come."
