Marseille said on its website that European football's governing body will review the alleged "improper conduct" of Chelsea stewards before the match on September 28.

Marseille's head of security, Guy Cazadamont, claimed he was grabbed around the waist by Chelsea security officials before being ejected from the stadium.

"I have never experienced such a reception in a European competition," Cazadamont said after the game.

He added that 22 Marseille stewards who had travelled to London were not allowed to supervise Marseille's fans and were ordered to stay seated during the game, and that some supporters were not allowed into the stadium.

The French club also claimed its banners were banned in the stadium.
