Everton manager David Moyes reveals he wants to sign David Beckham

David Beckham has been offered the chance to return to the Premier League after Everton manager David Moyes admitted he would relish the prospect of bringing the former England captain to Goodison Park.

The 35 year-old has confirmed he will complete the final year of his contract with LA Galaxy – which expires in November 2011 – and, though he has suggested he will not seek a loan move to Europe for the Major League Soccer off-season between January and March, he is yet to rule the possibility out.

Should Beckham decide that the lure of playing in the Premier League again is too much to resist, Moyes could not be clearer that he would do all he could to bring the player to Merseyside.

“I would hope that if David wanted to come he would pick up the phone and call me,” said Moyes. “I worked with him at Preston. We played in the same team and I made him look good. I made his bad crosses OK. I think I scored from one of his corners by making his bad passes look good.

“If he wanted to come back to the Premier League he would only need to phone me or Phil [Neville, the Everton captain] and we would be here for him. He knows how to get hold of Phil and he knows how to get hold of me.

"We would have to look into it financially, but if he came and said to me I would like to come and play I would have to go to the chairman and ask if we could do it, if we think we can make it work by selling enough shirts.”
