And this is why we have compiled for you the 100 Greatest Football Clubs of All Time. We used the IFFHS's Club World Rankings from Dec. 1 2009-Nov. 29, 2010 to give you our list of 100 of the best teams out there. 100 examples of greatness.

Now you might question where they stand in this table. You can approach this list in no particular order; we'll stick to how they are listed here. Regardless of whether or not they are out of order, they are still the 100 Greatest Football Clubs of All Time. So let's begin.

Club Atlético Newell's Old Boys, known simply as Newell's Old Boys or Newell's, is a sports club from Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. The club was founded on November 3, 1903 and is named after Isaac Newell, one of the pioneers of Argentine football. Newell's is best known for their association football team, playing in the Argentine Primera División (top level of the Argentine league system).

They have won the Primera División five times throughout their history, the first being in the 1974 Metropolitano and the last in the 2004 Clausura. Newell's has also been twice Copa Libertadores runner-up (in 1988 and 1992).

PAOK F.C. (Greek: Πανθεσσαλονίκειος Αθλητικός Όμιλος Κωνσταντινουπολιτών – Panthessaloníkios Athlitikós Ómilos Konstantinoupolitón, the Pan-Thessalonikian Athletic Club of Constantinopolitans) is a Greek association football club based in the capital of Macedonia, Thessaloniki.

PAOK has spent its entire history playing in the top division, winning two league championships (1976, 1985) and four cups (1972, 1974, 2001, 2003). PAOK also holds the record as a runner-up in the Greek cup (12 times).

Gamba Osaka (ガンバ大阪, Ganba Ōsaka) is a Japanese professional association football club, currently playing in the J. League Division 1. The team's name comes from the Italian word "gamba" meaning "leg" and the Japanese ganbaru (頑張る), meaning "to do your best" or "to stand firm". Club Social y Deportivo Colo-Colo is the most popular team in Chilean football.[2] Colo-Colo has won a record number of national titles and is the only Chilean team to have won the Copa Libertadores de América.

Colo-Colo has won a combined total of 46 titles, encompassing four amateur titles, 39 national tournaments in the professional era and three international championships. Since the creation of the Primera División of Chile in 1933, Colo-Colo is the only club to have played in every season, never having been relegated. Berner Sport Club Young Boys 1898 is a Swiss sports club based in the capital city of Bern. The club is best known for its football teams. The first team played in the Swiss Axpo Super League and has won 11 Swiss league championships and six Swiss Cups. In 1957, YB was named the Swiss team of the year. Club Atlético Independiente is a popular Argentine sports club based in Avellaneda that is best known for its professional football team.

Independiente is one of the most successful teams in Argentina. Domestically, it is one of the big three teams having won 14 Primera División titles in the professional era, third behind River Plate and Boca Juniors. The club has had even greater international success, having won 16 international titles, which is currently the third most behind A.C. Milan and Boca Juniors.

Their international trophy haul includes a record seven Copa Libertadores (including a record four straight from 1972–1975), two Intercontinental Cups, two Supercopa Sudamericanas, one Copa Sudamericana, one Recopa Sudamericana, and three Copa Interamericanas. Unione Calcio Sampdoria is a football club based in Genoa, Italy. Sampdoria have won the scudetto only once in their history, in the 1991 season. However, the club has also won the Coppa Italia four times (1985, 1988, 1989, and 1994) and one Italian Super Cup. Their biggest European success came when they won the Winners' Cup in 1990. Nogometni Klub Maribor, commonly referred to as NK Maribor or simply Maribor is a professional football club based in Maribor, Slovenia. It was founded on 12 December 1960 and is one of only three football clubs that has spent all seasons in the Slovenian League since its foundation in 1991.

They are the most successful Slovenian club with eight Slovenian League, six Slovenian Cup and one Slovenian Supercup titles. The club's most successful period was in the late 1990s and early 2000s when they won seven consecutive Slovenian League titles, three Slovenian Cups and as the first Slovenian team played in the UEFA Champions League under the guidance of head coach Bojan Prašnikar.

Club Nacional de Football is a Uruguayan sports club based in Montevideo. It is best known for its professional football team, which plays in the Uruguayan Primera División.

They have won the Primera División 42 times (including 31 in the professional era) and another 78 official national titles, which makes Nacional the most successful team in Uruguay. Internationally, the have won the Copa Libertadores three times, ranking them fifth overall. Nacional has also won the Intercontinental Cup three times, a joint record they share with Boca Juniors, Peñarol, Milan, and Real Madrid. PFC Levski Sofia, (Bulgarian: ПФК Левски София) otherwise simply known as Levski or Levski Sofia, is a professional football club based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Since its establishment, Levski Sofia has won a record 55 major domestic trophies including 26 A PFG titles, 26 national cups and three super cups. They are the only Bulgarian club to have spent its entire history playing in the first division, from 1924 to 1944 in the State Championship, from 1945 to 1948 in the Republic Championship and from 1949 on in the A PFG. The club also has a positive balance against all other Bulgarian teams in all national competitions and is a member of the European Club Association.

Internationally, Levski has reached three Winners' Cup quarterfinals and two UEFA Cup quarterfinals. In 2006, it became the first and so far the only Bulgarian club to make it to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Club Universitario de Deportes, also known as Universitario, or more popularly as [La] "U", is a Peruvian football club located in Lima. It is the most successful football club in Peru. Koninklijke Atletiek Associatie Gent (Royal Athletic Association Ghent), often simply known as Ghent or by their nickname De Buffalo's (English: The Buffalo), is a Belgian football, track and field and field hockey club, based in the city of Ghent, East Flanders.

Futebol Clube do Porto, commonly known as FC Porto, Porto or FCP, is a Portuguese football team from the city of Porto, in the northern region of the country.
