Cesc Fabregas: Will He Remain At Arsenal Or Will He Go To La Liga?

The January Transfer Window has Jose Mourinho looking for players to replace Higuain who is out for the rest of Real Madrid's Season.

The latest news or rumor has him pleading with Cesc Fabregas to leave Arsenal and go to Real Madrid. The issue is that Fabregas supposedly has a verbal contract to return to FC Barcelona (also known as La Barca).

I am of the opinion that Fabregas will remain with the Gunners and that this issue was invented for the January Transfer Window.

I have invited Angela Asante, Deb Stimson, Isaac Asante, Ashan 49, Sabrina Dessipe to this round table discussion since they are some of the people who knows about Arsenal. I am only beginning to learn about Arsenal and there is always an opportunity to learn about other teams.

    The question is the following

    Will Cesc Fabregas
    A. Remain With Arsenal
    B. Go To Real Madrid
    C. Return To FC Barcelona
    D. I will see one of the above when it happens.

What Does Jose Mourinho See In Fabregas?

    Ashan49:

First off thanks for involving me in your round table discussion, you’ve chosen a great topic, and I would love to contribute!

    Here is my answer:

I think the move for Cesc by Jose says a lot, I have been following Real Madrid, and its slowly but surely getting better as a squad, but the emphasis on the “slowly”.

Jose is a manager that has a winning mentality, and he would like nothing more then to beat Barcelona, with their arch rivals, (Real Madrid) that he is currently managing. I mean Jose knows that if he beats Barcelona, with Real Madrid, that will surely etch his name deeper into the minds and hearts of football fans world wide.

It would be pure humiliation for Barcelona if Jose were to beat them..

But there is an obvious problem, Jose knows that Real Madrid are no where good enough to beat Barcelona, the 5 nil defeat says it all. The defeat is all that Jose is thinking of, and that is what spurs him on in my opinion.

How Does Jose Mourinho Beat Barca?

    Ashan49:

Well in regards to that question, it brings me back to the mention of his liking to Cesc Fabregas. The main difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid, is that, Barcelona play as a team, they have an evident synergy that connects all the players, they have a psychic advantage if you will.

Real Madrid on the other hand, lack that team feel, which leads to great fluid team football. In the squad there are many individualist players, that want to win the game by themselves, for example Christiano Ronaldo, Benzema etc..

In saying that, Jose hoped to build on Real Madrid's synergy, by purchasing players such as Ozil and Khadeira, they have an understanding, played together in the world cup, they are familiar with each others style of play.

Jose was hoping on Ozil to act as the bridge that links the attack together, it has worked but not to great effect that is good enough to beat Barcelona. He needs a player of Cesc Calibre, in midfield he does the smallest thing that have the biggest effects on a game, for example against Chelsea, that perfect weighted pass to Theo. It may look easy but its not, Cesc is the guy that pulls the strings at Arsenal.

If he can effect Arsenal in such a way, then at Real Madrid, you only have to imagine.

What Are The Options For Jose Mourinho?

    Ashan49:

But Jose (Mourinho) is no fool..

He knows that Cesc is Barcelona at heart so i think his liking to Cesc is probably down to two things:

01.Jose will make a 40-45 mil, a good asking price for Cesc, he’ll chance it, but if Cesc declines he has other candidates maybe or can fall back on Alonso. I think hes trying his chances, playing the “Right Fee” Card to lure him back to La Liga.

    02. Its probably Mind Games from Jose, he probably wants to give Barcelona Headaches, and blow the “Cesc Saga” out of proportions again, just to worry Barca.

Jose has a long way to go if he wants to beat Barcelona, he has to achieve a certain Synergy within his team, that encourages more team football. He needs a player that connects the dots in the squad, someone like Cesc.

In Terms Of The Cesc (Fabregas) Situation

    Ashan49:

In terms of the Cesc situation:

I see him staying at Arsenal, he loves Barcelona too much to part ways to Real Madrid, he knows better and understands the consequences. Cesc stated at one point that the two clubs he’ll ever play for is Barcelona and Arsenal.

    However..

He is definitely going back to the Nou Camp one day, i think he’ll split his career between the two. Cesc is 23 now, so i think he’ll stay at Arsenal till he’s 25-26 and in that time help win Gooners world wide Silverware. I would not be surprised if he left at around 26 to make way to the Nou Camp, it would fit his career nicely.

    When Cesc does leave…

There is only one Aaron Ramsey..

Fabregas May Remain With Arsenal

    Isaac Asante:

I think if Fabregas leaves Arsenal, it will not be in this January transfer window. I don’t believe we’re going to see any shock from the superstar. He will most likely remain at Arsenal for now, at least to help the Gunners finish the positive campaign which they have already started in the Premier League this season.

Arsene Wenger has already revealed how important Fabregas was to him, and I personally do not think that any successful deal will take place between Arsenal and Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Already, Barcelona have proved to be disrespectful to the Gunners with their excessive relentlessness to purchase the player. So, I guess the Blaugrana are somehow out of the race for Fabregas, as far as this transfer window is concerned.

As for Real Madrid, I don’t think many enjoy seeing them spending a lot of cash on play makers. Arsene Wenger is not a “money-lover”, generally speaking; so Los Blancos will certainly not be able to tempt him with whatsoever.

In short, I don’t see Fabregas leaving Arsenal in January for any team. But we’ll see this summer… And even, it will all depend on the outcome of his 2010/11 season at the club.

    Sabrina Dessipe:

Cesc Fabregas will not be going anywhere in January. He will remain with Arsenal and see out the rest of this season.

I think Cesc will want to try to win something with Arsenal this season, and this year they have as good a chance as any.

There might be a good chance of Cesc leaving for Barca during the Summer as they will no doubt come after him again. If they put up the money Wenger will not likely hold Cesc back.

Madrid have practically no chance as Cesc has said he will only go to Barcelona, he’s always been a Barca fan so it’s highly unlikely that he will go to their rivals.

    Angela Asante:

Definitely, yes. I don’t see Cesc Fabregas quitting Arsenal in January. Such a thing will not only turn the transfer window into a cinema but also reveal – if it’s really the case – that Arsene Wenger is not in control as Arsenal’s manager.

The Gunners are enjoying a promising season after spending five years without a single trophy. I’m sure they’ll do anything to maintain the momentum alive. It’s pretty much obvious that losing Fabregas in January will damage the Gunners’ team spirit. They simply can’t afford to lose their captain at such a point in time – meaning, in January.

Yes, Cesc Fabregas might leave the club as he so desires in the near future, but then again the London side may prefer to sell their play maker at the end of the season rather than at the middle of it all. To sum up, I’d say that there’s absolutely no chance whatsoever for Barca or Real to sign Fabregas in January in my opinion.

Will Cesc Fabregas Go To Real Madrid?

    Angela Asante:

Given the fact that I can’t imagine Fabregas leaving the Emirates in January, I eventually think that he won’t be going to Real Madrid this month. Such a thing could happen, however, later in the summer.

But, this will not only take a huge effort from Real Madrid during the next transfer window but also an evaluation of the situation between Barcelona, Madrid and Arsenal. In other words, Los Blancos’ season based on the success achieved might play a major part in Cesc Fabregas’ decision concerning his next destination.

Besides, there is also the Jose Mourinho factor which we’ve got to consider. The Portuguese’s future at Real Madrid is not set, as we all know that he is ready for more adventure around Europe. And perhaps, a trip back to Inter Milan anytime soon… who knows? It seems as Fabregas’ prospective transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu will actually depend on how well Mourinho will play his part in Real Madrid’s quest to acquire the player.

    Angela Asante:

The Camp Nou is Fabregas’ likeliest next stop. However, this will depend much on Barcelona’s bidding plan.

Based on reports which I heard through English media The Sun, the Blaugrana may not be able to splash more than 31 million pounds for the transfer of Cesc Fabregas.

On the contrary, Real Madrid are reportedly ready to go beyond this price tag and that’s something which might make things difficult for Sandro Rosell’s side.

That said, Barcelona could lose the race for the signature of Fab against Real Madrid later in June.

As I repeat, I don’t think Cesc Fabregas is moving anywhere in January.

He will remain at Arsenal with the task of leading his club to at least win one trophy this season.

After that, we will see what happens for the Spaniard. As for Barcelona, they must be ready to engage is some kind of “El Clasico Transfer War” if they want to bring Cesc back to the Camp Nou.

Fabregas Remains At Arsenal According To Round Table Discussion

    Deb Stimson:

    Will Cesc Fabregas
    A. Remain With Arsenal
    B. Go To Real Madrid
    C. Return To FC Barcelona
    D. I will see one of the above when it happens

    I have to go with

    A.

Wenger won’t let Cesc go in January. If he wouldn’t let him go last August, he certainly won’t let him go now that they are serious contenders in the EPL. Rosicky did okay during Cesc’s absence but he can’t replace him. Cesc is like the Xavi of Arsenal.

    B. No, for three reasons

    1) with the return of Kaka, and as well as Ozil & DiMaria are playing, Cesc wouldn’t probably get much playing time. Cris can play up top, which would make it more likely that Cesc could get playing time, but he is much better on the left wing, imo.

    2) Mou has already said that Kaka was their only January “signing”. and

    3) Cesc is a Barca boy. I can’t see him EVER going to Madrid…their arch rivals.

    C.

Again, no. While ultimately, Cesc wants to return to Barca, he wants playing time more. With players like Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro and Messi (when he plays midfield) in front of him,

I can’t see him getting a lot of playing time at Barca, unless there was an injury or in a game where Pep wants to give his regular starters a break.

    Thanks for the invite!

I would like to thank you as well as Angela Asante, Sabrina Dessipe, Ashan49, and Isaac Asante for your participation in this roundtable discussion.

    Conclusion:

Fabregas remains at Arsenal for the time being and will probably finish his career with FC Barcelona.
