With all the rumours that are flying around about Ashley Cole—who seems to have fallen out with just about everyone at Chelsea—his time at the club may be drawing to a close.

Cole was dropped from the starting XI against Napoli in the mid-week Champions League fixture and this has raised questions about his future at Stamford Bridge.

After being offered £55,000 a week back in 2005 by David Dein, Ashley Cole was described as being furious, which led to his move to West London where the money lay.

This could be misconstrued that he fell out with the club and Arsene Wenger, but this seems to be untrue and Wenger and his staff don’t seem opposed to a move for the veteran left back.

Whether the Arsenal fans will think the same is another story. On Cole’s return to the Gunners' home ground, he received boos and fake money was thrown on in his direction. His tapping up incident was all over the papers for weeks and it infuriated the Arsenal faithful that one of the fan favourites would join one of their fiercest rivals.

Ashley Cole, who joined Arsenal as a youth and supported them growing up, may fancy a move back to North London if he is forced out by the end of the year. With his contract ending in 2013, Arsenal could capture one of their invincible squad members on a very good deal.

He may be able to sort out Arsenal’s left back problems with Kieran Gibbs constantly injured, Andre Santos injured at the moment but inconsistent even when he is fully fit.

This deal is so crazy that it almost makes sense. The Arsenal fans may not want him back, but if he does come and play well I don’t think they will complain.
