I think for both platforms we are looking at 2 options :

4K - 60fps
1440p - 120fps

That's not true either. The RX 5700 XT can do 4K @ 120fps Medium setting, and so can the RTX 2070s, which the PS5's performance is around. It all depends on if they're still aiming for max settings in that case it'll probably be around checkerboard 4K or at worst 1440p, if not and they drop graphics settings then it can and should be Native 4K still.

My 1080p tv is only 60hz, so 120fps means nowt to me.

It matters for cloud gamers like me.

We need high framerate modes on xcloud, GFN, stadia, ps4 remote play.

Its been demonstrated to reduce input lag.

That's not true either, 120fps is becoming more and more common on some panels as of this year. You need to check their marketing BS though if the TV says something like true motion 120 Hz, then the TV is likely 60Hz native and software supported motion up to 120Hz (which isn't really 120 Hz), however, those that say true motion 240 Hz are generally native 120 Hz panels. You can get a solid 55" - 65" for $600 - $1,500.

From a rumor I've heard floating around PS5 supposedly has assets and tools of RDNA 3 in its architecture!? I'm not saying it's true, or even that the Series X doesn't offer the same thing. It's obvious though some want to make that distinction that the PS5 is somehow less capable because of a theoretical maximum power output rating (Teraflops)!

It's already established that Teraflops is not nor will be the talkinking point of this coming generation. And as Mark Cerny emphasised on PS4's teardown only 8 teraflops of computing power was required for 4K output. Many games could already achieve 60 fps, unless different by develops choice. You see people seem to think because Sonys studio's go with lower resolution and or fps, it automatically means the PS4 isn't capable, but that's not necessarily true. Their games speak to the contrary.

Many 1440p, 30fps games on PS4 out perform and look better than games on competing systems. Don't get me wrong, it's not a rag on other systems, it's the general consensus.

Some fans were saying the only reason Dirt 5 was 120fps on XSX was because it was crossgen and wasn't demanding graphically. Guess they were right.

Has there been an official reveal of its specs from MS? If not then you shouldn't bother believing what people are saying as they have no way of knowing. That being said if you chose to want to believe rumors on the internet the rumor is its targeting 4TF so no its not more powerful.

doesn't matter because the only graphics card that can run both is £1200 ($1400) so dont expect a £500 console to have the option for both unless its a very minimalist game.

If u want 120fps ur gona need to run it at 1080p since hdmi 2.0 cannot support 4k at 120. It should do fine for 4k 60 tho.

We don't know what the resolution difference is. They have the basically the same CPU so framerate is going to be the same.

So when it was announced for xbox your response was this

If your TV is 4k then most likely it can run a higher refresh rate at 1080p. If you want graphical fidelity then 4k is ur way to go. If you want a competitive advantage then run it at 1080p 120fps. 60 is okay but for competitive games 144 is better but 120 is good too.

Yeah a week old to be precise, the thing is at the time I posted this article it was the only article I could find that talked about it at all, I submitted this article, then all the websites started publishing stories about it, crazy eh?
