Surprised this didnt get more attention, or even mentioned on here, atleast its confirmed now.

I dont think we will see 240fps mode on gt7 to be honest, I dont think either next gen console has the hardware to run games at 240fps with everything else the games will do, I know kaz done an interview and mentioned it, but that was more of what improvements he would like to see rather than anything to do with gt7, we may get a 120fps option but I'm expecting kaz to go 60fps and push the eye candy.

Lol.
HDMI 2.1 ist maxed out with 4K 120FPS. Dream on.

ForwardDude1386d ago

At 1080p maybe, but not possible at 4k with current hdmi 2.1 standard.

jukins1386d ago

The engine supports 240 fps. IF they really wanted to i bet they could achieve it of course this would come at fidelity costs. Not to mention a very very small subset of gamers actually have to display capable.

Zega1386d ago (Edited 1386d ago )

With those graphics probably LOL

Games1st1386d ago

Maybe in two years with the Pro.

BenRC011386d ago

Its gonna look cack then

Future proofing is a good thing. Maybe hdmi is getting an upgrade in the next few years?

dumahim1386d ago

That quote was from quite a while ago. Just don't think it's possible with the ray tracing reflections.

Yeah, the article said the mag was out on June 30 its past that date but yeah it should shute some people up.

stuna11386d ago

What I keep hearing from on the other side of the pond shouting is what the PS5 can't do! And time and time someone of something proves to the contrary.

People are better off keeping their mouth's shut, unless they have a repeat of the "Durango/Orbis" dabacle! We know how that turned out don't we!?

gwbxwu1386d ago

I get paid over $90 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earns over 10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I've been doing,

Looks like that SSD speed will do wonders for PSVR2 then.

Marquinho1386d ago

120fps... at what resolution? XSX version will be 4k/120fps. Will be interesting to see.

IRetrouk1386d ago (Edited 1386d ago )

Really? Any proof of this or are you just making stuff up?

gigzamillion1386d ago

Where is an official announcement that its 4k/120 on series x?

"Dirt 5 runs at 4K 60 FPS on Xbox Series X, gives 120 FPS option"

That's not a confirmation it will do 120fps it at 4k.

https://www.windowscentral....

Marquinho1386d ago

"Q: How will these enhancements impact a player’s experience with Dirt 5?

A: Some people have a misconception that frame times and performance are limited to just how fast your GPU is, but CPU performance is obviously critical too, it would be no good if you had a GPU that can render beautiful visuals at 4K at 120fps if you don’t have a CPU that can generate enough frame data to render that quickly on the GPU. A powerful GPU needs a powerful CPU to back it up and Xbox Series X delivers this. Being able to spread more work across all those cores, in a scalable engine like the one we have at Cheshire Studio means that we have more CPU time left to spend on improved physics, lower latency input, AI updates – we’re able to deliver more than we could before."

https://news.xbox.com/en-us...

Sounds like 4k/120fps to me.

IRetrouk1386d ago (Edited 1386d ago )

Not confirmed though is it? From the same interview

"David also highlighted the game engine's ability to fully utilize the Series X CPU's 16 hardware threads, and that such high performance was critical in feeding the GPU that's able to "render beautiful visuals at 4K at 120fps."

He added that DiRT 5 will look incredible at 60fps on the Series X and will still look gorgeous at 120fps, though corresponding resolutions for those frame rates were not mentioned, indicating that the game could utilize checkerboarding rendering or dynamic resolution scaling to preserve gameplay responsiveness at 4K and beyond."

https://www.techspot.com/ne...

Sounds like it's still not confirmed to me.

RazzerRedux1386d ago

", it would be no good if you had a GPU that can render beautiful visuals at 4K at 120fps if you don’t have a CPU that can generate enough frame data to render that quickly on the GPU"

That is clearly a hypothetical and not an announcement of the resolution at 120fps.

Marquinho1386d ago

Well... whether it's 4k/120fps or Codemasters are playing words here.

Since no HDMI device is currently capable of 4k/120fps I will have to wait until the console get release to see if it actually matters.

Profchaos1386d ago

Graphically thiugh it's not pushing much harder than a current gen title there's a small amount of rtx in the game but ultimately the game looks to be prioritising feel over graphics

Remember the Cell could do 120 fps but everything was 30

IRetrouk1386d ago (Edited 1386d ago )

Ok...but this is a dev telling you what their game runs at, not a console maker telling us what the chips in their new system have the potential of doing, not even nearly the same thing.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen1385d ago

But the internet told me that PS5 can't do 120fps because of teraflops.

Wow, I can't believe it both consoles will have the same frame rate... oh wait no I knew it all along. Obviously 15% more GPU isn't going to mean 100% more FPS as some people wanted to pretend.

purple1011386d ago

One will have pressure triggers. And HD rumble to feel the road surfaces too.

RpgSama1386d ago

And 3D audio with the tempest engine!

...and half the loading time when you suck at racing games (like me) and want to restart the race :D

I think fanboys all around are over hyping both consoles. At this point I am down to launch games for which console(s) to buy including none. There has to be a reason to go out and spend the estimated price of $400-500 for a new console.

I went and was playing The Witcher 3 again last night. Marveling at the graphics. Can't believe how awesome the enhanced XBO X version looks. Started playing Last of Us II earlier this week and it looks amazing as well. I don't see how this next generation of consoles is going to be all that much better from my PS4 Pro and XBO X. They will reduce load times substantially, but that isn't everything. And I need food and washroom breaks every now and then anyhow.

stuna11386d ago

This^^

Sure you'll see more and smoother frame rate consistancy, but not to the degree some seem to think.

It's not like dirt 5 is maximising the GPU on any of these consoles that's where it gets silly people expect every game released to be on the cutting edge it's not like that at all I've got a PC with an rtx 2070 at the same time I picked that up far cry new dawn launched playing a recent game on a cutting edge graphics card with settings maxed out used like 60 percent of the card it still has a ton of headroom available.

Throwing raw Power like the series X does eventually has diminishing returns which is why Sony took a holistic approach and increased the SSD speed and designed the tempest engine along with duelsense the experience of gaming on a ps5 will feel premium. Microsoft has just thrown raw power at a problem but the game may not play as nice without feeling the feedback that the duelsense has or immersion from the audio

esemce1385d ago

CPU has a bigger impact on fps than GPU, both consoles will be fairly even overall.

Smclaren19851385d ago (Edited 1385d ago )

Thank you someone who is actually stating the actual diff between the gpu it’s around 15 percent at a push, it will possibly be able to do ray racing better Than ps5 but the ps5 is going to be able to calculate the rays much faster in the end it’s a very small amount much less than PS4 pro and Xbox one x which had 45 percent advantage on the GPU and it also had 4 gig of ram advantage where as next gen is very very close excluding the ssd and io speed on ps5.

I never had any doubt about this because GT7 will have 120 FPS I would bet, when the game is fully completed of course.
