I honestly thought Di Maria was a totally wrong buy in the beginning but he's been a real revelation in the Premiership so far, for United.
The one I feel sorry for is Juan Mata. For such a huge talent, he's looked like a dead man walking in recent weeks.
The whole World and its mother KNOW that they have needed at least two World class defenders since last season.
Apparently not van Gaal.
If RM have a poor season,I wouldn't be at all suprised if it happened sooner rather than later.
Brilliant footballer but in serious need of some mental rewiring.
The 'problem' he has, is that Fergie saw him as the 'super-sub / impact player. The type you bring on when the opposition defence is mentally and physically tiring, rather than the starting type, especially with Rooney, RVP and Welbeck in front of him.
Personally, I can appreciate his value in this role but equally, I can appreciate just how frustrating it must be for him.
Didn't his National manager recently urge him to make a move to Juventus for regular star...
Definitely didn't see that one coming.Sure hope LVG knows what he's doing.
Lol.sounds familiar.
It's still the defence that needs urgent attention and three at the back really doesn't suit them.
And did the cameras catch Fergie yawning, in the crowd?
This following their disappointing US tour. Big mistake to sell DiMaria.
Haha.Funny.Almost as funny as the 'defending' I ended up watching last night.
Anyone still have David Moyes phone number? *smh*
Liverpool were doing well up to half time but City's depth of squad will give them the edge this season. All quality players too.
Only side I can see pushing them, is Chelsea.
I put a lot of it down to the Fergie factor. Their home form fell off a cliff last season and I know it's early days but the Swansea performance and result points to that being a lingering problem.
Imo, a rock-solid defence is the prerequisite for a successful side. Players who are comfortable on the ball and can carry it out of defence. I only hope he can find the players who can up the tempo. Slow build-ups are definitely not in United DNA.
I think RVP isnt the same player from 2 seasons ago. Smalling and Jones are unconvincing, Young is a liability as a defender. Cleverley has gone backwards as a player imo.
They need Carrick back and at least two world -class defenders.
There is some information that the World doesn't need to hear. I find the revelation just as sad as the act of what she tried to do.
Haha. So funny (and mortifying as an Englishman that Germany scored the same amount of goals in 20 minutes as we scored in the last two World Cups!!)*sob*
Putting Krul on for the penalties was a stroke of psychological genius by Van Gaal.
Introducing an element of suprise/doubt onto the likely stress of the Costa Rica penalty-takers was really finding an edge for his team.
I hope van Gaal has put some World-class defenders on that shopping list.
Where it went wrong: they got on a plane to Brazil.
He's suffering from LvG's formation and slow build up play from behind him.
Having said that United certainly need another top striker as well as a quality CB.
