Emmanuel Adebayor has been told he will not play for Manchester City this season.
Roberto Mancini has taken a hardline stance with the striker as he attempts to get him to reduce his wage demands and complete a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
The two clubs agreed a £5.5 million fee for the Togolese, who spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane, but Adebayor - who has earned £170,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium - has been reluctant to accept a lower salary.
Adebayor has been omitted from the squad for City's pre-season friendlies whereas Roque Santa Cruz, who is also for sale, has been allowed to get match fit as Mancini has tried to force Adebayor to leave.
