England manager Fabio Capello has declared Wayne Rooney is ready to start against Switzerland despite revelations about his private life.
There had been speculation that the Manchester United star would not feature in the Euro 2012 qualifier, but Capello has confirmed the striker is "happy to play".
Speaking at a press conference, the Italian said: “Yes he will play. I spoke with him and I monitored him during the two days after the game against Bulgaria and he was really, really good on the pitch.
Private life has nothing to do with football. What so ever. Of course Capello knows that.
