Manchester United defender Patrick Evra, who desperately wants to be chosen by France this week, should be booted out of the team for good.
That was the heavyweight demand, revealed yesterday, of French Minister of Sport Chantal Jouanno before manager Laurent Blanc picks the squad on Thursday to face Brazil in Paris on February 9.
Evra has completed a five-match international ban for leading France into a World Cup strike in South Africa last June and has said how much he wants to return.
But Jouanno said: “ I have nothing against Evra but, as a France player and especially captain, he did not defend the values of sport which are shared by the Republic.
“It would be a huge error to forget what happened."
