England star Rooney was charged with using offensive language after he swore into a TV camera as he celebrated completing his hat-trick in the 4-2 win over West Ham last Saturday.
Rooney, who scored the winner against Chelsea in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday accepted the charge, but appealed the severity of the ban.
