MANCHESTER City striker Mario Balotelli was forced to miss training with Italy this morning due to a back injury.
The 21-year-old was named in the Azzurri squad for their last two Euro 2012 qualifiers against Serbia on Friday and Northern Ireland next Tuesday.
But he complained of back pain on Tuesday and left the national team’s Coverciano training base today to undergo tests in hospital.
Balotelli was set to start alongside Antonio Cassano against Serbia as Giampaolo Pazzini and former United striker Giuseppe Rossi were already doubtful.
