Like I said before, even if they win all of their remaining games, Chelsea and Tottenham aren't gonna slip up enough for it to matter. I don't care what their run-in looks like, the teams that Arsenal have left to play are exactly the kinds of teams they tend to screw up against, especially near the end of the season when some of those teams are fighting against relegation.
That actually seems reasonable to me, given his talents. Can Atletico afford that though?
Who would be the best manager to replace him? Mourinho or DiMatteo is unlikely, but I'd be surprised if they didn't go for Pellegrini or even Heynkes (since he's leaving Bayern this summer but doesn't want to retire yet).
If Mancini leaves, of course.
It's not unfathomable, no. VERY highly unlikely, but possible.
I genuinely think you already have. Neither Spurs nor Chelsea are gonna slip up enough for you to pull it back, even if you win all of your remaining games. They're too good for that.
Too little, too late I'm afraid. It's gonna be a long road back.
At least I'm prepared for the blow this time...
Good win.
Now beat Reading.
Made no predictions on this one, but I'm not surprised. Figures that Tottenham would narrowly go through on away goals while Arsenal would narrowly get knocked out the same way...
I could have bet big on this exact series of events and won. I fully expected them to fall one goal short. I fully expected that third goal Bayern scored in the first leg to be the decisive goal. It wasn't a difficult match to predict, because this is Arsenal. This kind of thing is what they do: get themselves into a hole that ends up being ONE SINGLE SOLITARY foot too deep for them to get out of, EVERY time, for the past 8 years.
Too little, too late should be our motto....
Great match. One observation stuck out like a sore thumb however:
Alexis Sanchez gets whistled for offside, rounds the keeper, kicks the ball in the net, claims to have not heard the whistle, doesn't even get carded.
Robin Van Persie gets whistled for offside, takes shot at goal, claims to have not heard said whistle, gets second yellow and sending off.
Just an observation...
Sense...I don't see it...
The captaincy seems to be hindering him. He hasn't been the same Verminator we know since he got it.
Didn't you know? He doesn't do it to cheat, he does it to protect himself from serious injury when tackles come flying in at him. That makes it ok. /sarcasm
I smell another meme with this one...
Of course you can beat Bayern Munich.
Can you beat Bayern Munich by 3 goals though? For whatever strange reason (apparently I'm masochistic or something), I don't feel it's totally impossible.
Likely? Not at all. But not totally impossible.
I see what you did there, young sir...
Fergie didn't even attend the press conference. Probably figured he'd get in trouble if he did, given how he must feel right now.
I'm the last person on Earth to defend Utd in any way, but Nani shouldn't have been sent off for that. He's clearly just trying to trap the ball out of the air.
When will it end?
Oh, business as usual then...
*sigh*
Love his teammate's reaction like "Are you REALLY doing that?!"
