Anyone basing Moyes' success on trophies is a deluded idiot. Success runs deeper than silverware.

Final placing before Moyes arrived at Everton: 17th, 14th, 13th, 15th.

Last 4 seasons: 5th, 8th, 7th, 7th.

Clearly defined progress, and all done on a shoestring budget compared to teams around them. I'm not the biggest fan of Man U...Hate them, in fact, but this is a top appointment for them I think.

I was speaking about POTENTIAL...Ronaldo was fairly average before he went to United.

As for being average in a weak Championship season...Maybe pay attention to the Championship? This has been one of the most exciting seasons I can remember with so many teams in the mix for promotion, and he has been raved about and called the best player in the division by a number of managers.

Good move for both parties. An excellent player with excellent potential.

Under Fergies mentoring, he could be England's 'Ronaldo'...He certainly has the tricks!

Gonna miss him come seasons end, but for the first time ever, I'm actually gonna pay attention to Man U

He's not a striker...He's a winger.

Ronaldo scored less goals for Sporting before he joined United, and look what happened to him.

Maybe watch the guy for a bit before making a judgement.

As a Palace fan I am absolutely GUTTED to see him go. Though it will feel me with pride to see a Palace academy product play for one of the biggest teams in the world.

I may dislike Man U, but it is the move I wanted for him. A world class stadium for a team that always challenges for domestic and European titles, playing for arguably the greatest manager in the history of the game who isn't scared to play these young players.

I'm just happy he's ...

So because loads of decisions didn't go your way makes it alright? My teams game yesterday had awful refereeing decisions and shocking cheating from the opposition. We never threw our toys out of the pram.

Do you HONESTLY think no other manager would get punished? I've seen them punished for less.

And Kos-Mos, I hope you enjoyed the box of Kleenex you got for Christmas so you can furiously masturbate on your sofa on Super Sunday.

You called?

I personally think it's disgraceful how the 'powers that be' let old plum nose run the game.

His theatrics to the official after Evans' own goal would have started an enquiry if it was any other manager...The book would've been thrown at them. Danish sizzler face gets away with it time and time again.

One rule for the wankers another for the rest of the league and it has to stop.

I think old bacon face has been on scotch a few days early.

It was a lightweight ball of air. No wonder Premier League players get a reputation for being nancy boys.

As for it being one of most dangerous things he's seen on the pitch? What a damn hypocrite! This is a guy who has managed both Eric Cantona and Roy Keane. Who can forget Keane's violent assault on Alf-Inge Haaland which ended the poor guy's career. An assault which Keane himself said ...

Even better. Maybe the league would become competitive again, just like the days before the PL was formed.

I'm very happy! Despite also hating Man U, it is Chelsea who I hate even more..A low-life, morally unaccpetable, repulsive club with racist enabling fans.

As a Palace fan, it makes me happy to actually see news of our club on the homepage of this site instead of the usual Premier League/La Liga codswallop.

I hope Portugal win just for the sake of my sweepstake at work!

And the fact England have John Terry.

I hate modern football...Wanna do well? Spend money.

Loada shit...Not competitive anymore.

They did not outplay every other team...They were dominated in the 2 semi legs and the final but scraped through.

It's boring anyway...Same teams virtually each year.

The sad state of football these days...I long for it to be competitive again like before the Premier League came and ruined it all.

Wait, so you STOPPED following Man U because Barca humiliated them?

I'm sorry my friend but you epitomise all that is wrong with football. Being a complete gloryhunter and following the next successful team.

I am a Crystal Palace fan...A passionate one at that. They are my local team and no matter how shit we are (which is very) I have NEVER contemplated supporting another team.

Bilbao are a class act. I never saw the first leg but I had a feeling United will go through.

After seeing how good Bilbao were last night, I can't blame them.

People hark at Barca's passing play, but Bilbao's was as good as anything I've seen. Vastly underrated.

Oh and please stop calling it the EPL. It is just the Premier League.

We don't call the Spanish league SPL and the German league GPL...We call th...

Sadly wasn't nominated :(

What a night! So proud to be an eagle! The fans and the team completely silenced the Man U plastics.
