If you want to get all technical about it. We are not black we are brown. And we do not call ourselves negro nor answer to it with anything short of a foot to the face. Reffering to people as black differentiates our race from other people who are brown. (Indians, mexicans, aborigines, and even Latinos.) Negro is durragatory and inflammatory. Use it at your own risk.
Slavery started with Sumerians during ancient history not with Arabs. Arabs did not use slavery until the midevil period. The Sumerian Code of Ur-Nammu (c. 2100 BCE – 2050 BCE), the oldest known tablet containing a law code surviving to today, contained laws regarding to slaves and is the oldest recorded evidence of slavery.
