Title? 1-1? I was so pissed when they scored the first one AND that lucky free kick!! I really thought we were gonna lose and further spiral! Man, Benzema and Ronaldo for the save!! Did you guys catch Mourinho doing the knee slide!! LMAO!!
Edit: Did Ronaldo's shot dip that hard? Or did it hit Kompany's head?
Yaya Touré was the only player wanting to win the game for City. The others were content with a point. He was the only one making runs and bombing forward.
Yaya Touré, developed and made world class at Barca.
hitting hit and hope shots form outside the box for 70 min is not what i call outplayed, but real were the better team. i expect city to take the points at home.
Hit and hope? Did you watch the game? That's probably the best game Joe Hart had in his life! (minus his mistakes)
30 shots, 17 on target with some coming close off target. He made several top saves. If Pantilimon was playing, it could of been 8 goals in Madrid's favour!
Awesome match, City just weren't there defensively (once again). Sevilla holds a 1-0 for an entire match against Madrid, and City concede 3 goals in the second half. Anyway, Madrid deserved the result.
It's matches like these that makes the competition so great. What a match by Ronaldo, barely lost the ball once and was a nightmare for Maicon, Kompany, etc.
The facts don't lie. Madrid outplayed the champions of the Premier League. One break and one extremely lucky goal wasn't enough to hold back the champions of La Liga.
Every stat was in Madrid's favour besides cards and offsides... Two stats you don't want!
Once again the Spanish have shown how you play the best football in the world! Spanish football has developed the game (tactically and technically) more than ever before. The last 6 years has shown why Spanish is the best football ever.
Atlético Madrid destroyed Chelsea the other week and now the Real Madrid showed City how to play proper football!
Joe Hart played good but not good enough. Harsh reality, Spanish teams fight back! And fight harder!
Lets end with the ONLY one! Jose Mourinho! Jose Mourinho!
unfortunately stats don't show where the attempt on goal was from. like i said hit and hope. neither team looked like scoring in the first hour.
i'm not a city fan, i don't even like em, but i don't let it influence my judgement. unlike yourself whom is clearly pro la liga.
you see holding a bias often results in one making illogical conclusions such has suggesting that the uefa cup winners are better the chamipions league holders, because of a midweek friendly
you'll be better off without it, you wont look as foolish.
And like I said... Did you watch the game? That's probably the best game Joe Hart had in his life! (minus his mistakes)
Complete domination through passing, City couldn't get the ball unless it was a goal kick and were giving it away to Madrid almost every time they had it.
Madrid could of been 3 or 4 up in the first half alone if it wasn't for Joe Hart's top draw saves and could of scored more in the second half but his heroics saved City's bacon!
Only Joe Hart and Yaya Touré played well in that match and Hart couldn't handle the heat when it came to the wire!
City were second best in every department. They're nowhere near Madrid's or Barca's quality.
First time I've seen this City side get shown up, they had no control whatsoever through the game and this just shows how far Spanish football is ahead of the rest!
Thats mancini's tactics for ya. He likes to soak up pressure and for all the passing City do, they don't do it the Spanish way. It's just hold onto the ball there is no fluent magic forward passing.
Like the Arsenal match, I could only watch a very choppy video of this match, eventually resorted to ESPN updates. The second half seemed properly epic! I don't think I've ever seen a team take 35 shots in one match. I can't even take that many in FIFA!
Your insane if it wasnt for Joe Hart RM would have been up a lot sooner thanks to CR7. He had 2 amazing saves in the first 20 minutes. You sound very jealous.
He sucks dude. Good keepers are consistent, this guy will make one or two good saves then give up a couple ugly goals soon after. It happens all the time. No other keeper I know of gives up more untimely goals than Joe Hart.
Was a good game in the end, Toure was immense but couldn't inspire his teammates at all, Ronaldo was threatening all night so it was justified he got the winner.
Real were fire.. Marcelo has one mean right foot. Toure was immense for City. City's defence were all over the place not closing ppl down and Kompany's cock up at the end.
Straightupbeastly talking striaght out of his trolling A hole once again.. Hart was good.. He made countless imperative saves in the first half, and Kompany messed up at the end, not him. Not sure if u are just a worthless troll or u really don't have a clue? hmmm
Joe Hart is overrated but still a quality keeper, what about Casillas though? The guy has been shockingly bad for ages yet no one calls him up on it (Probably cause he plays for Madrid and Spain) atleast Hart made saves to keep City in it in the first place! Maicon is quite simply a terrible defender who scores wonder goals from time to time, Kompany had one of his worst games for City, seriously why did he duck?! I agree with the guy above who said although Madrid dominated the game they only looked like they would score a bit more than City, every time Yaya began a run it looked like it would end in a goal. I honestly think City will win at Eastlands, with Aguero and Tevez up front!
Citys defence were perfect for 75 minutes as they closed down all the angles not letting RM score or get a good shot off no matter how much they tried. As for Joe he made a few wonder saves the first half so hardly over-rated. I think the first goal going in (which Joe should have saved) really knocked the team a bit. then the 2nd was a sonder goal no keeper on the planet could have got that and that killed off what ever spirit the players had left leaving Ronaldo to finally get that goal he was after all night. Maicon kept him busy for most the night until then.
Casillas "has been shockingly bad for ages"? Did you just say that? Did you really just say that?
Casillas played 68 games last season (for club and country) and had 30 clean sheets in total. Broken several records, won the League and Euro championships. Exceptional keeper that keeps on getting better with age. 12 years in the Spanish squad and winning captain in all 3 major wins for the national side. He also played a critical role in all 3 tournaments.
He had 5 clean sheets in 6 games during the Euros which shows he's still the best by miles.
Without Casillas, Spain would of been eliminated in the quarters during the 2008 Euros. He saved 2 penalties earning Spain a 4-2 win against Italy on penalties. He also made critical saves in the remaining games.
Robben was on goal twice against Spain during the World Cup final in 2010. 1 on 1 situations both times, Casillas saved both times. With a lesser keeper, Spain could of been down 2-0 against 10 men.
Finally He held his own in the penalty shoot-out against Portugal and cruised to a perfect knock-out clean sheet record.
He's won everything at club level (minus Europa League), He's won everything at nation level (youth & senior level minus FIFA Confederations Cup) and has the most clean sheets in the least game appearances for any goalkeeper ever. A record 80 clean sheets in his 137 appearances. One last stat, first player ever to achieve 100/+ wins internationally.
He's the most decorated goalkeeper ever;
Bravo Award: 2000 La Liga Breakthrough Player of the Year: 2000 UEFA Team of the Year: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 Zamora Trophy: 2007–08 UEFA Euro Team of the Tournament: 2008, 2012 ESM Team of the Year: 2008 FIFA/FIFPro World XI: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 FIFA/FIFPro World's Best Goalkeeper: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 FIFA World Cup Golden Glove: 2010 FIFA World Cup All-Star Team: 2010
Only missing European footballer of the year and Ballon d’Or. Lets be honestly, only one keeper has won these awards in over 50 years. These awards just ain't won by keepers which is a joke as keepers have the hardest job in the game.
Additionally, expect to add a few more individuals awards on to his list before the year is out, I'd say 4 at least, if not more.
...So mynameisq, has Casillas "been shockingly bad for ages"? The answer is hell no!
Match was great hard to pick a man of the match in this one as there was so many. Marcelo, modric, toure and hart were great for their respective teams. It just seems Ronaldo goals cant be stopped even if their shot directly at the keeper
@Rgb.You are honestly the worst of Football fans, you cant judge a player for yourself can you? it's all about awards and blah blah blah. See one thing you leave out of all of that is how he was part of a Spain side that keeps the ball for most of the match! put me in goal for Spain right now and i'd have a decent shot at a clean sheet! How often does he actually have to make any saves? infact in the matches where he is actually required, e.g when Madrid have a bad game, you can expect Casillas to flop! Anyone can cite times where he may have done good, infact I remember the Robben chances, it was more Robben choked than it was some superhuman casillas save, while he did well to save it my overriding feeling was that Robben flopped (he has form for this on big occasions. Now don't get me wrong he is a great keeper, one of the best but all those awards and stats dont make him the best keeper, atm imo Neuer and Hart are more consistent, bare in mind that they play for worse teams than madrid and spain. So do i stand by my statement that casillas has been bad for some time now? yes i do, hell just look at yesterdays Dzeko goal, once upon a time casillas would have saved that these days him messing up is a common occurence. Watch some madrid games and get back to me rather than reading his wikipedia achievements ;)

Freaking awesome second half.
Awesome match all said.
So many late goals! The last half hour was crazy.
Toure was class!
Looked like Man City would win it after being outplayed for most of the game but couldn't hold the lead till the end.
