The Barcelona president says the Premier League duo use strong-arm tactics to bring in talent and has poured cold water on the idea of a European super league
If they want to talk football transfer ethics, they can look no further than their widely documented pursuit of Fabregas. There is resentment at the Catalan club for the fee they paid for him? LOL WHAT?? <35m for someone as young, experienced and talented as Fabregas? By today's over inflated prices, he's easily worth double what they paid for him. Not to mention if he had stayed at Barce, he probably wouldn't be the player he is today as he'd never have beaten Iniesta, Xavi, Deco etc to the first team.
"European Super League"... you mean like the Champions League? How else would you have it work? Randomly assign teams to tables? You'd have roughly the same results, with the top teams making it to the top regularly. Honestly, do they want some sort of 100 team league? The thing would take about 3 years to play out.
Seriously though, I don't understand how he can have the cheek to make these comments. Barcelona even had the city MAYOR participate in their grossly disrespectful, media-fueled Fabregas chase! I don't care if he came from Barcelona, no club has any divine right to buy anybody!
I lost a lot of respect for Barcelona after that.
Just to be clear, I'm pissed at HOW he left, not THAT he left (although that's no less disappointing).
I'm completely lost for words....
That's coming from a man who bought Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez for nearly 100 million
He's seriously saying this? REALLY?!
Still butt-hurt over 30mill profit Cesc are we?
