The 55-year-old, who has been on the FA Board for six years, will also be put forward as the FA's candidate in the elections for the UEFA Executive Committee
Well should this position be filled by a more neutral candidate ? If United is represented so well in the F.A how come all the other sides are not represented at all? seriously it gives United unfair advantage and is not good for the league..
YAY! Finally. It's high time we have some partiality in the FA. I mean, how else are United gonna keep winning the league after Fergie retires? This should ensure total control for at least the next couple of decade. Also, Howard Webb is long overdue a big promotion for all the good work he has done(for United). Now he can get one ASAP. Great move by the ever 'fair and unbiased' FA.
On a more serious note, I thought there was something called "conflict of interest" that would've blocked this appointment.
"You can't have an impartial and transparent league when the chairman of a certain club is also a member of the FA board." - Rafael Benitez(2008)
Woo hoo! More penalty decisions and dodgy offsides, I like it!
Seriously though, have we even got a chance with naysayers now?
How do they even allow a CEO of an English club to become a vice chairman is beyond me..
this will not please many
I await for some Man City executive to be appointed above this guy.
