wow... last minute as well.. why do we become so complacent after we score one goal :/

buddymagoo4304d ago (Edited 4304d ago )

Clear penalty against Rooney but Spurs deserved the point.

Our biggest mistake was setting up to defend. We should have played our normal 4-4-2 and attacked them.

jak3y13oy4304d ago

i know but that's football...

Spurs dominated the 2nd half and did deserve that goal unfortunately!

Infernostew4304d ago

It was a penalty for the foul on Rooney but we got away with a no call on Vidic's handball in the box too so it evened itself out.

Can't complain at the end result. Can point to the stonewaller penalty on Rooney but it is no guarantee of a goal these days...

Spurs did deserve to take something from the game and they left it right til the end. I think had United seen it out, it also would have been a good performance from them.

These days however United still can't shut good teams out, but they are improving defensively. Ferguson will look back and seem to be annoyed, but he would have taken the draw before the game, pretty sure he would have.

The draw cuts the gap but United have still gone on a good unbeaten run in the league since the Norwich loss 2 months ago now. Tricky games against City, Liverpool and Spurs negotiated.

If United can keep on course against the bottom half teams we will see if City can get wins against Liverpool and Chelsea next month.

Next 8 games for us
Southampton (H)
Fulham (A)
Everton (H)
QPR (A)
Norwich (H)
West Ham (A)
Reading (H)
Sunderland (A)

Next 8 games for City
QPR (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)
Chelsea (H)
Villa (A)
Wigan (H)
Everton (A)
Newcastle (H)

So there is hope can get those points back that we lost today.

ProjectVulcan4303d ago (Edited 4303d ago )

Everton are going to offer stiff resistance but United have home comforts in that tie. City will face hopefully an in form Liverpool and Chelsea who are usually difficult to beat, as well as Everton away.

United NEED to have a cushion going into the final 6 or 7 games because their run in is more difficult.

City will just try to keep the gap down to 6 or 7 points in the lead up to the derby, and aim to win that to setup a really close run in.

We should feel a bit hard done by the result. I usually don't question Fergie's tactics but what the hell was up with our line up today. Also, how the hell does Welbeck keep getting matches over Hernandez? Rooney on the bench? Another match that Kagawa gets totally bullied in the midfield too. Spurs played real well but I'm pissed that Dempsey had to be the one to equalize. I'm American and I can't stand that ungrateful twat. Can't believe we only came out for Three Points Lane with only 1... fucking hell...

asmith23064304d ago

Easy up man ha! Rooney is just back and I thought welbeck played good today. Kagawa should have been booked, he was pulling shirts the whole first half. He just isn't physical enough. Looks like city will close the gap again. Utd didn't have a go at all today. Rvp to the rescue.

Fair result, utd were up against it for most of the game. De gea played great up until the goal, his punch was terrible.

Prophet1124303d ago

Don't know what Rafael was thinking just before Dempsey's goal, he makes the tackle the ball runs loose and Rafael sprints away from it obviously expecting Valencia to miraculously get to it and pass to him.
There is 40 seconds left of the game why is he making an attacking run instead of attacking the ball and defending.

What is it with our wingbacks, when they attack they will charge forward at pace yet when they loose the ball or mistime a tackle and the opposition winger makes a counter attack they will casually jog back, this is especially true with Evra.

chukamachine4303d ago

Strange really.

Spurs deserved the point, and arsenal totally dominated the second half against Chelsea, which should have ended in a draw as well.

But that's football.

KingPin4303d ago

that was a great match to watch. totally entertaining. 100% fair result at the end of the day.

as for the tactics, wellbeck needs to be benched. a 4-4-2 formation with RVP and Hernandez up front would work.
Rooney should fall in just behind them.

did anyone here notice that we only have one wing that works. the one valencia was on, down the other side, nothing. we really need nani to come in. hate him all you want, he's more productive down the flank than wellbeck and young put together.
